A1 Telecoms cc was started in 2008 by Shaun Wingrin, an Electrical Engineer, who noticed that the man-in-the-street often was misinformed and at times, even unfairly disadvantaged, in his dealings with Telecommunications companies, many of whom are enormous, powerful and appear intimidating to the general public. Please realise though, that we are not saying this is always the case. It just happens that you hear the bad news much more often than the good.
Telkom, MTN, Vodacom, 8ta, CellC and more recently, Neotel are names that the public hear and see all the time but many people are reluctant to assert the consumer rights with these conglomerates, for varied reasons, namely:
It takes too long to see the process through
They don’t know whom to speak to and get shunted from pillar to post
They don’t know what to say to express their query clearly
They don’t have time to follow up, even when they have lodged a successful query
Lastly, they think it’s going to cost them more than they will gain.
A1 Telecoms is there to save you money. Our underlying philosophy is that if we don’t save you money, we don’t charge for our services.
We source equipment for clients, prepare DETAILED monthly reports of their telephone use (or abuse by employees), scrutinise their Telkom accounts and set out to recover any monies owed to the client, be it as a result of Credits on their account which they often don’t notice, lack of service due to outages or cable theft or just general overcharging of YOU, the man-in-the-street, intentionally or sometimes even, mistakenly, by the big, powerful giants of the industry.
We have an enormous database of contacts, back office staff and “the right people to talk to”, when it comes to sorting out issues. Over the years, we have also diversified into IT consulting as it’s so intertwined with the above and the VOIP environment, which is what we focus on heavily too.
